We believe that a company should give back to the community in which it operates.
For 2010, we have targeted the following organizations to support through our volunteer work and charitable giving:
Dress Your Best
In 2009 we ran our first clothing drive to benefit Dress Your Best, a registered Canadian charity that changes the lives of Canadians by providing low income men and women with the necessary professional attire and career development tools they need to achieve success.
Toronto Library Foundation
Recently, our attention has been drawn to Canada’s literacy statistics which indicate that nine million adult Canadians are challenged by low literacy. This has strong implications for Canadian corporations and our economy as a whole. Small changes can enhance a worker’s productivity, efficiency, engagement and help prepare our workforce for the skills shortage on the horizon.
Books have the power to transform lives and Toronto has the busiest urban library system in the world. Their programs and services include early reading and adult literacy, settlement support for newcomers to Canada, workforce readiness including computer skills training, and services for small business.
The Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (OSPCA)
The OSPCA’s work includes animal cruelty investigation, care, sheltering, fostering and wildlife programs for abused or injured animals.
